This is a traditional Aluminium Puttu Maker, commonly used in South Indian and Sri Lankan kitchens to prepare Puttu, a popular steamed rice flour and coconut dish. Made from lightweight and durable aluminium, this utensil consists of a base vessel for boiling water, a conical section to channel steam, and a cylindrical steaming chamber where the Puttu mixture is placed and cooked using steam.

🍚 How It Works:

  1. Add water to the base pot and bring it to a boil.

  2. Place the conical section and then attach the cylindrical steaming tube.

  3. Fill the cylinder alternately with rice flour and grated coconut.

  4. Cover with the lid.

  5. Steam for about 5–10 minutes until the puttu is cooked.

Material:

Made of aluminium, which is lightweight, conducts heat well, and is rust-resistant.
